Driven by the spirit to excel, the International Business and Marketing (IB&M) cluster at NBS goes beyond classic theories and models in explaining contemporary business concepts by adopting a pedagogy that blends practical cases, lectures, and multi-model exercises. Within its framework, IB&M is considered a recognized leader in Pakistan, as acknowledged in a survey undertaken by Pakistan’s foremost job portal (The News on July 5th,, 2009). Enhancing corporate competitiveness and delivering superior customer value is the starting point for students. Through lectures, case studies (local and international) and classroom discussions, an environment of continuous learning and value addition is created. The learning culture in IB& M is defined by analytical rigour and challenging thought processes. Over the last three years, the cluster has hosted three very important national seminars on the following themes:

  • Media and Marketing
  • The Importance of Branding in Sensitive Markets

Under its external lecture series, the department invites renowned guest speakers from the corporate sector. Talks
were recently delivered by top professionals and leaders from Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, U-fone, Mobilink, Telenor, Coca- Cola, Pepsi, Nestle, Engro Foods, Askari Commercial Bank, United Bank Limited, Bank Al-Falah and Deutsche Bank. NBS faculty is known for conducting cutting-edge research that contributes a great deal to the academic understanding and practical learning of students. IB&M cluster has a team of 6 full-time faculty members with impressive academic credentials and global experience in consumer behaviour, market research, brand management, advertising, pricing, new product development, electronic marketing and international marketing.

For the past many years, the department of International Business and Marketing (IB&M) at NUST Business School (NBS) has enabled many students in mastering the craft of research and narratives that connects consumers with products, services and perspectives to marketing. Here at NBS, students experience powerful stories happening in the world of International Business and in particular Marketing. Our curriculum is equitable in term of theory learning and industry-focused problem solving. We cover broad based topics like Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Post Modern Marketing, Branding and Communication, Sales Marketing and International Business Analytics. These courses are taught with ingenious teaching methodologies which includes case cracking, seminars, internships and research based industry projects. It helps students to develop analytical, research, teamwork and strong presentation skills. The backbone of our success is our faculty who excel internationally in research and in their proficient teaching skills / methodologies. Our faculty members make every effort, day and night to groom young individuals into innovative maketeers, who would excel on a National & International level.
